Air Vacuum Relief Valve

The Air Vacuum relief valve is used to prevent back flow or syphon effect in irrigation pipes.  In some instances this may need fitting to distribution and sprinkler pipes if there is a risk that a syphon could for allowing water to continue travelling from the water supply via a syphon effect or to prevent contaminated water being drawn back once the irrigation has finished.  The unit has a simple design as when the water starts pressure is applied to a diaphragm sealing the vent and allowing the irrigation line to run.  Once the irrigation finishes and the pressure reduces the diaphragm drops allowing air to enter the pipe and cancelling any syphon effect
