Fitting

These more industrial type push fit fittings have a much larger and sharper barb than the more retail fittings.  Because of this more effort is required in order to fit these to the pipe.  The end of the pipe that needs joining should be heated using either very hot water or some form of blow torch.  If you do use a blow torch then the end of the pipe should be positioned in the flame for 2 seconds if the pipe is blck and 1 second if it is brown.  The flame should be directed down the centre of of the pipe rather than on 1 side.  Now push the barbed fitting in to the pipe.  If you have overheated the pipe it will fold back on itself.  If this is the case cut the pipe to a clean point and try again.  Once the fitting is in they can only be removed by cutting the pipe.  These are extremley durable and will give you piece of mind when leaving you irrigation systems
